The welfare of the child is paramount to us. Therefore, we want to ensure that the children who are involved with and are members of Skerries Athletic Club are protected and kept safe from harm while they are in our care.

We follow best practice in Child Welfare, and fully adhere to Athletics Ireland’s recommended processes in this area.  To maintain an open and transparent approach we have adopted the Athletics Ireland’s Safeguarding Statement, Codes of Conduct, related policies, and guidelines as our own. Where we have customised policies to be club specific, they are included below.

The Designated Liaison Person is responsible for reporting any allegations or suspicions of child abuse or welfare to TUSLA or the Gardaí.

Aishling Tinkler – Club Children’s Officer

Aoife Power – Club Children’s Officer

The Club Children’s Officer is responsible for helping to create a child centred environment that promotes the welfare of children and young people engaged in sports activities.
