Garda Vetting

Why do I need to apply for Garda Vetting?

The club’s insurance requires a ratio of vetted coaches/supervisors to juvenile athletes that we have to meet – the ratio is one Garda vetted coach for every 10 athletes. Priority on the waiting list is given to those who offer to volunteer.

What is Garda Vetting?

All volunteers/coaches who have regular access to children or vulnerable adults must be vetted as per the National Vetting Bureau Acts 2012 – 2016.

Who do I go to with questions?

The Garda vetting process is handled by our children officers, Sharon Keogh. If you have any questions relating to the vetting process, please contact them with your questions at training.
