• Ask for a mentor by, contacting an existing coach or, contact the club and give your mobile number and ask for a call-back from a coach
• Membership of Skerries AC is completed through the Athletics Ireland Portal at https://membership.athleticsireland.ie/ For coaches, Skerries A.C. Membership is free but you require Athletics Ireland insurance.
• Become Garda vetted
• On https://eventmaster.ie/events, search for “Safeguarding 1”. Do the “Safeguarding 1” course.
• The club will pay for courses. Look for the following courses:
  • Athletics Leader
• Assistant Coach

General Information

Skerries Athletics Club is a vibrant Community Club that caters to athletes of all levels, from the very youngest to the underage groups of all abilities. This is only possible due to the excellent group of volunteers involved in running the club. 

The Coaching Team has Coaches of all experience levels with Coaches at the earliest stage of their coaching journey to Coaches who have competed at a high level and provide elite level Coaching.

Once you are involved in the Club you will be given the opportunity to attend Athletics Ireland recognised education to assist with your development.

• Membership fees for Juvenile coaches are waived (but the coach still pays the Athletics Ireland Insurance c. 20 euro). Likewise for committee members.
