Leinster Schools Track and Field Championships in Santry

Well done to our athletes who were in action at the Leinster Schools Track and Field Championships in Santry over the past few days. Congratulations to Isabel Carron who placed 2nd in the Senior Girls 3000m. Orla Bollard had a fine run to place 6th in the same race. In fact both girls were on course for massive pbs, however only ran 6.5 laps as opposed to 7.5 due to an error on the lap counter!! Unfortunately Aoimhe Downey who has been producing a great return to form of late had to withdraw from the Senior Girls 800m after sustaining a hamstring injury earlier in the week. Eibhlin McCarthy was in action on Wednesday in the u16 girls mile but unfortunately struggled with a tight hamstring on the day and was out of the medals on this occassion. Well done to the girls and best of luck to Isabel who will now go on to contest the All-Ireland Schools Track and Field in Tullamore at the end of the month.
