Dublin XC League 1

Congratulations to all our athletes on their great performances on Sunday in the first race of the cross country season. The race (which we co-hosted with our neighbours Lusk AC and LSA) was held in the amazing setting of Newbridge House, Donabate in fabulous sunshine.

A special mention to some of our younger athletes who were competing in their first cross country race and for others in their first race for Skerries AC.

Check out the photographs (courtesy of Michael and some of the parents – more on Facebook) which show a combination of determination and enjoyment from all our athletes. The coaches are very proud of all your efforts.

Thanks to the parents who acted as stewards this morning and to all our coaches for preparing our athletes. Without all our fantastic volunteers from Skerries AC, other clubs and Dublin Athletics Board, these events could not be held.

If your child is available to take part please let your coaches know by Wednesday 12th at the latest, as we need to allocate race numbers to each athlete and send it to the Dublin Board of Athletics.
This is a fantastic event on the Dublin Cross Country calendar and a great chance to show case what a super club we have. As with all events we need volunteers and are putting out a call for help on the day.  Help is needed from 10am to 1pm (races start at 11am) and it will be primarily to help maintain the race course, ensure that the athletes follow the correct course and ensure that the track is kept clear of spectators.
If you feel that you can help us out on the day can you please let Ruth or Liz know and if you have a high visibility vest please bring it along on the day. We will have some for those that haven’t got one.
Best wishes to all our athletes as we start the Cross Coutry season.
